Buchu Brandy Kit

A proudly South African herbal Liqueur in the tradition of the San and Afrikaner peoples of the Western Cape.

The kit consists of vacuum-packed, fresh-picked buchu leaves and stems, and a label.  All you need to do is buy a 375ml bottle of brandy (or other suitable alcohol, such as vodka or witblits), put your buchu into it, and replace the label.

You will end up with a tincture of buchu (agathosma betulina) from Fijnbosch Farme. Buchu is a mild diuretic and also a mild urinary antiseptic, taken to stimulate kidney function and to treat mild cystitis and prostatitis. In small doses it is an appetite stimulant, and is a good digestive, carminative, and antispasmodic.

It is a stimulant useful for hangovers, and is also used to treat colds and 'flu, coughs, rheumatism and gout. Buchu Brandy is popular with air travelers as a cure for traveler's diahorrea.  For general good health, sip a small tot of Buchu Brandy as a nightcap and let the aroma of buchu clear your senses.

The kit contains enough buchu for 375ml of brandy.  Shipping of your order may be delayed as we may need to pick the buchu so that it is fresh.
