Leucospermum bolusii

Commonly known as Gordon's Bay pincushion or Witluisiesbos (Afrikaans)

  • This species is an unusual leucospermum as it's colouring is creamy/white rather than the usual striking bright yellow or orange that the others generally are.
  • It grows into an erect rounded shrub to around 1.5m tall.
  • The flower-heads are small and creamy/white in colour, appearing in numerous clusters.
  • They exude a strong, sweet fragrance and are wonderful as cut flowers.
  • It flowers in late spring and is an attractive shrub for any garden, small or large.
  • They enjoy sandy, acidic soils and a position in full sun.
  • They are hardy to USDA zone 9.
  • Should be sown in autumn and do well in coastal gardens.
